New Years Resolutions

Would you wear a badge like this?

I just realized after christmas is soon new year! Out with the old, in with the new. So I'll start to think possible goals for the year 2012.
  • loosing weight
  • exercising more
  • finishing my studies
  • getting a job
  • ending part time job
  • learning french
  • learning portuquese (european)
  • earn affiliate income
  • testing LCHF diet
  • sew my own clothes
  • keep my home clean
If you can not come up with any of your own, here is a fun generator

I got this year I will jump rope.

MY RESOLUTIONS

I will not start a diet.
I will not start an exercise program.

This is only partly humour. The reason I am promising this is because I have tried to do this for years, so I decided to save my self from the stress and forget about it. No counting calories or reps. No more diet books or exercise videos. Freedom!

Natural lipstain (with kool aid)

I was looking for natural substitutes for lipstick/stain. This is what I found
  • berries
  • beets
  • kool aid
what now? We don't drink kool aid here, but I knew enough to doubt. I checked their website and the mix contains among other things;
  • aspartame
  • acesulfame potassium
  • artificial flavor
  • artificial color
If it says ARTIFICIAL it's not NATURAL!

However, you CAN stain your lips with kool aid or jell-o powder.

1000 money

If you got 1000 €/£/$ more a year what would you do with it?
I work part time. What I earn is 'chicken change' BUT it adds up to 1000 euro per year. So I've decided to use that to something nice. But what? Maybe...
  • vacation
  • books
  • home decoration
  • cosmetics
  • clothes
  • massage
  • arranging a party
    buy an espresso machine
    start a small online business
    buy chocolate for everyone
    hire a cleaning lady
live one month without other income
    buy a new computer
    emergency fund
    arts and crafts courses
    excercise equipment and classes
    plastic surgery

Shoji screen

In traditional Japanese architecture, a shōji (障子) is a door, window or room divider consisting of translucent paper over a frame of wood which holds together a lattice of wood or bamboo. While washi is the traditional paper, shōji may be made of paper made by modern manufacturing processes; plastic is also in use. Wikipedia
The floor is tatami. Wikipedia
I want to have a shoji screen, since my bed room and family room are the same. My boyfriend is also moving in with his black furniture.
His style is very simple (which I like), but I also like chandeliers and huge flower arrangements. We both are very disorganized but would like neat surroundings. The home theatre system needs to look good too.
So I thought japanese style would be the best compromise.

The screen from Ikea is probably the one we are going to get.

I have considered making a lamp from that style too. Maybe I could come up with compatible bedside tables.
